Advocates for stricter gun control measures argued Sunday that President Barack Obama has not done enough to lead on the issue amid the recent shooting massacre in an Aurora, Colorado-theater.

Churches in the city of Aurora and much of Colorado held special prayer services and vigils Friday night in response to a mass shooting in which 12 people were killed and 58 were wounded inside a theater during a midnight showing of the new Batman movie. Pastors and ministry leaders are making not only their churches available, but their spiritual counsel as well.

Responding to an investigative report on the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal, Penn State University took down a statue of famed state football coach Joe Paterno, accused of concealing abuse claims, from outside the football stadium Sunday.

The U.S. Department of Defense gave permission Thursday for all service members participating in San Diego's Gay Pride Parade this Saturday to march in uniform for the first time in history. Christian chaplains in the military previously said that the DoD's recent recognition of Gay Pride Month less than a year after the repeal of "Don't ask, don't tell" (DADT) is the new "stark reality" that behavior once considered by the military as grounds for court martial is now celebrated.

Methodists in Northeast Approve Pro-Gay Resolution

A Jurisdiction of the United Methodist Church has approved a pro-gay resolution denouncing the denomination's Book of Discipline's opposition to homosexuality.

Portraits of Texas megachurch pastor Joel Osteen and other evangelical Christian leaders have been removed from a public library in Grayson, Ga., after a complaint by a Jewish woman over the exclusively Christian nature of the paintings, all done by a Christian artist.

Renowned theologian J. I. Packer recently elaborated his views on how to put sin to death, saying that the first thing a Christian should do is ask God to "enable me to see the sin as He sees it."

Pastor Ed Young from Fellowship Church in Grapevine, Texas, warns that relationships have become too dependent on technology, which decreases people's ability to connect with one another.

Without Walls Pastor Randy White revealed on Sunday the "hell" that he's been through over the last five years, including a battle with depression, an addiction to prescription drugs and being the subject of an IRS investigation.
