My Cup Runneth over Pt 2 of 3 (The Rapture) -Michael James Stone

My Cup Runneth over Pt 2 of 3

(The Rapture)

Michael James Stone

What time I am afraid

I will call upon the Lord

And be saved.

It is easy to love someone when they love you.

The first time we fall in love it as though our world were turned upside down. It is the greatest feeling we have that causes us to often be creative beyond our years. It happens when we are young full of hope and the passion of the moment.  Loves songs are inspired by the feelings first felt when a man loves a woman, and a woman loves a man. That first love, the first time of pure feelings for another human being, touches so deeply we call it “our first love”.

We never forget it.

Do you remember your First Love?

No it wasn’t Jesus, but it was someone special you never forgot.

My first love was like that. The childhood neighbor I grew up with, her name was Nancy and we were both “ugly ducklings”. She was very much athletic and I was intellect. She was full of life and exploring. I was shy and adoring. As most women do, she matured mentally, emotionally and physically long before I did. She went on and disappeared from my life. I moved on and got saved. I never forgot her, once in a while saying a prayer for her.

Who was your first love?

Jesus didn’t love you first.

Though God loves you, though God died for you, though God is more than you can ever imagine, You are not the Son of God’s first love. The Father is. The Son adores the Father, the Father and the Son are one.

Jesus loves the Father so much, so fully, so completely, He wants, needs, desires and lives,  in and doing the Will of God the Father. Jesus loves the Father in a way we know little about, but completes the missing part of our emotional and spiritual being.  We often compare it to our first love. We say it is God’s Love, a lot like the way we describe Agapao  (in Greek) Agape Love.

Agape Love is often called Self-sacrificing love.

Agape Love is so much more than that.

So was your First Love.

A lot of how we feel and react was wrapped up in your first love. You couldn’t sleep the same. You rarely ate the same. The dominant thought was the person you felt the first love for. They almost obsessed you completely, they certainly possessed your attention. Your life at that time was re-focused by how you felt about them and being with them.

The love overwhelmed you and overflowed you like a cup spilling over and the raw emotion sometimes made you look and act foolish. Your lack of control was obvious as with the person you were like putty and clay, easily formed by the responses from the one you loved.

When a good response it was heaven,

When a bad, it was Hell.

It was after all,

Your first love.

Jesus so loves the Father that way and more. He cannot choose any other way to be, exist, or desire for, but to Love the Father, to love God with all He is. As God that is saying a lot. Jesus said he came to reveal the Father. He said He wanted so desperately for his followers to see the Love between his Father and Himself, that he prayed God would make them One with Him. Jesus lived by his example and life, every day, a love so complete, so perfect, calling it a first love, or Agape love, almost takes away from it. It is the most dynamic love we know of. It changes the World.

Jesus loved the Father so much, that when God needed a perfect “image” of himself. A perfect  physical representation of Who, What, How, He is, he asked in Heaven, Who shall I Send? Who will represent me in perfection, though limited in human fragility? Who will be the representation of all that I am, yet still be the lesser of what I am? Who can be the Love I have for my creation, that my creation might know I love them? Who can unite creation with creator again?

Who will let man know, He is my first love?

Jesus.

Jesus loving the Father with all his love, all his might, all his being all of God that He is, said,

Here am I

Send me.

God the Father demonstrated His love for us, in that while we were yet sinners, His anointed one, his chosen one, his messiah, his Christ, His Son, died for you. While alive Jesus pointed to and described the Love God has for you and for me, but all that Jesus did, all He accomplished, all he lived for, died and rose for, is to bring you to our first love. God. Father.

God so loves you.

God loves you as his first love.

He even allows you the intimacy of calling him tenderly

As Jesus does.

As Lovers Do.

You may not know the love the Father has. You might not comprehend it or fully understand it. Your first love was a lot like that too. You might say I love Jesus. But because God gave us Jesus as the Object of our affection, and loving the Son we love the Father and seeing the Son we see the Father and knowing the Son we know the Father, because they are One, loving Jesus we love the Father.  Yet as possessed as Jesus was, even to overflowing with the Spirit of God, you can be assured, that love you feel when you first heard Jesus, it is God who spoke to you. God loves you.

The Love proves it is true.

God chose to love when the world chose to turn away. He chose to love you. He chooses to love me. Today it is no less the same. You can choose to love, or choose to hate. You can choose the way the world loves, or the way God loves. What we choose really says a lot about our love.

Some loves consume all our time, passion, and energy, taking us away from every other attraction and distraction in the World. No one when in love the first time, when enraptured in that first love, loves anything else, or anyone else. It was all for that one first love.

We can enjoy the same passion, the same fire. In fact it can become so much more. We can be consumed with the same fullness Jesus has. We can follow the loving example the way Jesus loved his Father. Loved his father as His First Love.

We can  prove who and what we love as He did. We can prove we have little love or no love by what we say and do. We can ask to love and be filled with love, if we take the free gift of the Holy Spirit God sent to love us. The same Spirit that Jesus is filled with his love for the Father with. He can help us to love. We really have the choice to love or not to love, that IS the question.

God so loved and proved it.

Will you and approve it?

Who is your first love?

If Born-Again

Who has become your new First Love?

Your love tokens, your actions, your feelings will give you away.

Return to your First Love.

I have.
