Khamenei dismisses sanctions, says Iran stronger than ever 
Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Wednesday dismissed harsher sanctions imposed on Iran this month over its disputed nuclear activity, saying the country was "100 times stronger" than before. A European Union embargo on Iranian crude oil took full effect on July 1 - a joint effort with the United States to force Tehran to curb nuclear energy work the Western powers say is a camouflaged bid to develop bombs, which Tehran denies. Iran’s military continues to improve the accuracy and killing power of its long- and short-range ballistic missile force, including designing a maneuvering weapon to target vessels, according to a Pentagon report to Congress. “Iran has boosted the lethality and effectiveness of existing systems by improving accuracy and developing new submunition payloads” that extend the destructive power over a wider area than a solid warhead, according to the June 29 report signed by Defense Secretary Leon Panetta. Haredi draft is devil's work, connects Monday's earthquake
The earthquake that hit Israel on Monday was cause by more than a mere geological reason – or so Chief Sephardic Rabbi Shlomo Amar believes. In a radio interview held Wednesday, the rabbi said that the timing of the earthquake, as the debate over the enlistment of the haredi public to the IDF intensifies, was not a coincidence. Two senior rabbis from Conservative Movement claim chief rabbi incited against them in letter calling for emergency meeting over State's decision to recognize non-Orthodox rabbis "The fact that the Torah and those who study it are being persecuted, that there are schisms within the Jewish nation that may create, God forbid, incitement and hate – is very serious," the rabbi said.
