And he said to Zebah and Zalmunna, "What kind of men were they whom you killed at Tabor?" So they answered, "As you are, so were they; each one resembled the son of a king." What a great statement: "They resembled the son of a king." As believers, we are children of the King of kings and the Lord of lords. You ought to resemble the King because you're His child! As a new creation in Christ Jesus, all things in you become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). You have a new heart and a new mind towards the things of God. You have the Holy Spirit that dwells in you. Your countenance should be shining so brightly that the rest of the world takes notice. Your step is just a bit peppier, and your smile is a little bit wider. While the world has big bags under their eyes from weekend hangovers, or is weary and worn out because of the burdens that are on their shoulders, you look refreshed. You've got a new attitude--and not from Patti Labelle. It's from the Lord Jesus and what He's done in your life. And if things ever look bleak and burdensome to you, remember that when we put our faith in Jesus Christ, we're heirs of God; truly we resemble Him! "Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ" (Galatians 4:7).Today's Devotion
