We are all parts of his one body, and each of us has different work to do. And since we are all one body in Christ, we belong to each other, and each of us needs al the others.” Romans 12:4-5 (NLT) "For change to be permanent and lasting, you must do it in the context of a group." | If you want change in your life to be permanent, strong, and conclusive you need a support group. This is the change principle of cooperation. God has wired us to need each other; we need community. In our verses today, God says “we belong to each other and we need each other.” For change to be permanent and lasting, you must do it in the context of a group. At Saddleback Church, we have a ministry called Celebrate Recovery that has proven this over and over. For 22 years it has helped people see change in their lives by offering support, affirmation, encouragement and accountability in a small group setting. You don’t need a lot of people, just a few, which is the value of a church family. I am continually encouraging new members in our church to join or start a small group. It’s as easy as getting a few friends together and deciding to do a Bible study once a week. Out of that will grow deeper friendships and the trust that leads to true support and accountability. | | | | | | | | | Missed out on one of the Daily Devotionals? View the online archives.
