One Thousand Years: Genesage "A White Stone" (Chp3:7)

One Thousand Years

Genesage

"A White Stone"

(Chp3:7)

And so began a new day.

On queue to some unknown timetable Eben turned from the window, pausing to look over the room.

It was filling up.

He walked around the table to the middle space left open for him by Ezra-vivor on his left, and Nehe-vivor on his right.

Eben never knew which of the two would be where as each jockeyed at times to sit on his right. Or sit on his left, depending on how you looked at it. Either way it was best for him to sit between these two brothers. Like most brothers he had known, there was sibling rivalry.

One brother would have been a handful, two was a football team.

They did like to wrestle either in words or physically, enjoying the competition between each other.

The soft whispering breeze through the western window shadowed Eben's thoughts as he considered the survivors in the group:  Ezravivor,[i] Nehevivor[ii], Rachaelvivor[iii], Donald McVivor[iv], Abdulavivor[v], musing to himself he wondered how many generations it would take the surviving remnant who made it through the earth judgment  to drop the "vivor" name  accepting a more fitting calling.

I know what I want to call them

Eben quibbled to himself,

Survivor was not a name he was fond of.

Sounded like a game show or talent competition. It was reality, there were “Survivors” from the “Great Tribulation”. But Television had nothing to do with the nightmare that they had been thru. Keeping a last name was like re-living the “last days” all over again. No need to. It was over, finished. Time to move on.

He preferred that they had chosen a name that looked forward not backward. One worthy of the fact of who they were. A name of what they were now becoming. Thinking about “them” he was often reminded he too was once one of “them.”

Are you so different?

The thought not his own flowed into his mind.

It was true.

He really wasn't so different even though He had been changed. He knew the answer to that question.  What he had been was not really that far away from what he was now. How was that old expression, scripture?

"There but for the grace of God go I?"

There were no illusions as far as he was concerned. No delusions of grandeur.  That was left far behind for Eben. Left Behind somewhere in a distant past long forgotten.  He knew where he came from. If there would come a time when he could readily forget that he would be glad. He knew one day his past would fade away into the sea of forgetfulness, but not today.

Today was Reality “Kingdom Style.”

As eternity continued onward his memory of the past would be less eventually. But for now it kept him humble. For that he was grateful. Eben Abram had been no saint.  That was obvious.

He knew it and He knew God knew it.

He for one was certainly glad it wasn't perfect people God picked in the rapture. He wasn't quite sure WHY NOT or why he picked him. But he did, and Eben was glad.

Smiling again with an inner glow of percipience Eben sensed the presence.

Looking across the room he gazed to the only ornament in this meeting place. It sat high on the wall on a lone ledge placed there to hold it. A single white stone. Letters on its surface were engraved with the name Eben.  Like a talisman to he who had received it, it was simple, but unique.

He remembered well the day it was placed in his hand.

How he had turned it over to read the other name inscribed there.  The single word that reminded him of so much…, so long ago. It still brought a tear of fondness to his eyes. How like God to be able to invoke such a reaction. To touch him right where it counted, this was most certainly his God.

No one knew Eben like the Lord did.

He recalled the day like it was yesterday. He remembered how he had felt at the time.  Reliving it now he could see the look messiah gave him when he handed him the white stone. A white stone in the midst of the ruins of Jerusalem.

Jerusalem, the City of God, reduced to hardly a city any man would live in.

Practically destroyed by the battles there, nothing standing remained.  In the rubble of what should have been the greatest city on Earth, the City of the Great King, piles of rubble were all that was left.  9/11 was nothing compared to this. All “hell had broke loose” and it was obvious. The City had little standing when Jesus arrived to rescue it.

Nothing to greet the King of the Earth; no Mosques, no Temples, no Church's, no Walls, there wasn't much left of the Old City.  The New City or the World Center that had been built by the Last of Mankind’s World Leaders was gone as if it had ever existed.

Jerusalem was not recognizable.

God did not abandon it though, for the City of David was to become the Capital of the Kingdom. God’s Earthly City of Heaven on Earth. Even as New Jerusalem would become His City of Earth in Heaven. So there is where Jesus began.

Twelve Stones were erected by the King himself declaring from that point on, Jerusalem would be rebuilt with Living Stones.

A Living City of “The Living God.”

From that moment onward the rocks cried out in Joy, the King had come.

Next he brought before Him the One Hundred and Forty four Thousand assigning them the task to restore the Tribal boundaries. Giving to them to renew the “Land of Promise” to health.

Sending them forth they began the word as quickly as he said for it to be done.

After that he called those who would teach in the Cities of Refuge.

Assigning them Cities as if to rule, these teachers were leaders in the Cities. Servants of the King; Teachers of the Refugees who had barely survived.

Instructors in the Way of the Lord[1], they would reveal the “way” God wanted things done.

Each one of these “teachers” came forward to the King to be appointed personally by the king. “Knighted” would have been a term but there were no round tables, castles or damsels in distress. Just the dregs of humanity left over from judgment. Each one came forward to be “received” by the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Master of all Masters, Teacher, Servant/King.

Each teacher came forward one by one, till it was time for Eben.

God reached down in the pile of rocks and rubble pulled up a single white stone.

It was as if it had waited all eternity for that very moment. And who knows, maybe it had. Eben only knew that it was his and his alone. It had his name on it. That moment before the multitudes in the greatest city of earth now hardly more than dust of the earth, Eben felt joy holding his stone, his Living Stone.

It was his commission. His living mission in the Kingdom of God

A lot of people were looking for crowns, Eben was happy with his stone.

Much later his sense of humor kicked in. Eben affectionately called his stone, his “pet rock.” Some didn't have a clue what he meant, which was fine for Eben.

At least he knew.
