July 28
MORNING
Walk in love.
"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another."--Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.--Love covers all offenses.
"Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses."--"Love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return."--Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and let not your heart be glad when he stumbles.--Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing.--If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.--Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.

EVENING
Let your requests be made known to God.
"Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will."--A thorn was given me in the flesh. . . . Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses.
I pour out my complaint before him; I tell my trouble before him.--Hannah . . . was deeply distressed and prayed to the Lord and wept bitterly. And she vowed a vow and said, "O Lord of hosts, if you will indeed look on the affliction of your servant and . . . will give to your servant a son, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life." . . . and the Lord remembered her.--We do not know what to pray for as we ought.--He chose our heritage for us.
