Sometimes in life we face challenging moments. ~ David McGee

John 18:10
Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus.
NKJV

Life Lesson
The Lord wants to direct us in our daily activities.
---------------------
Sometimes in life we face challenging moments. This moment was definitely challenging to Peter. With all that he had learned and all that he knew, he still had to go through the process of making a personal application. When it came down to it, Peter had to learn how to do it God's way and not his own. Don't lean to your own understanding.
Prov 3:5-6
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.
NKJV
I think that is something that all of us must learn. We would like to learn it all at once or all in one sitting, but it just doesn't happen like that. Most of us will have many opportunities, in some we will succeed beautifully and in others we will fail miserably. Each day that we awake, however, brings us the glorious chance for a fresh start and a new beginning. It is important to remember that in that process, please be careful of the ears.
