CIN: Q&A: with Gary Fisher "I would like your opinion on the pre wrath stance."

Gary Fisher

Dear Gary,
I would like your opinion on the pre wrath stance. For many years I was a firm believer in the pre-trib. teachings but have after much study gone over to pre wrath. I do know that our salvation does not depend on where we stand in regards to the rapture, but being prepared is very important. I am just curious as to what you believe. By the way I am new to your site and I love it!!!
Toni Tanksley

 Dear Toni,
You are right that our salvation does not depend on our understanding of the timing of the Rapture, whether at the beginning of, at the middle, or at the end of the Tribulation, thank God!!! There are many good and godly people who differ on this issue. Neither should we use our understanding of the timing of the Rapture as a test of fellowship between Christians! This is just not an issue that we should divide over! The saints of all ages will spend eternity together whether they were pre, mid, or post.

As you have probably discerned already, I am a proponent of the
Pre tribulation Rapture, meaning that I believe that the Rapture of the Church will occur before the Tribulation begins.

The pre wrath stance in my opinion, popularized by Marvin Rosenthal, has a serious flaw! That flaw rests in the fact that Brother Rosenthal defines only the seventh seal of Revelation, the last part of Daniel's 70th week, as the "wrath" of God. He reasons that since the Church has been promised deliverance only from the "wrath" that is to come (Rom 5:9, I Thess. 1:10. I Thess. 5:9), then defining that "wrath" will determine the timing of the Rapture.

The strongest refute to this reasoning can be found at Revelation Five. Jesus is found poised in history in Revelation 5 ready to take a scroll that is sealed with seven seals from God the Father. When He does, He breaks the first seal of this scroll and the result is the Tribulation. In fact, during the first four seals, which occur during the first half of the Tribulation, 25% of the world's population dies as a result of the war, plagues, and famine. If this were to occur today, it would mean that 1.5 billion people would die. Because Jesus is the one initiating this carnage by breaking the seals Himself, I conclude that all of the Tribulation is the "wrath" of God, not just the seventh seal.

Accordingly, if all of the seven year Tribulation can be called the
"wrath" of God, and the Church has been promised deliverance from the "wrath" (Rom. 5:9, I Thess. 1:10, I Thess. 5:9), then the pre tribulation Rapture position is a natural conclusion.

I am convinced that the Church, regardless of our individual persuasions on this issue, should be joining hands and saying to the world that people should be ready for the Rapture whenever it occurs and that the day is drawing very near!

(Current) LastCall: Daily Hope "How to Recognize God's Voice - The First Test & The Second Test"

The Last Call Devotions Network

"Current"

Don’t believe everything you hear just because someone says it is a message from God; test it first to see if it really is!” 1 John 4:1 (LB)

"God's truth is consistent. He is not going to tell you one thing in the Bible and then tell you something different in an impression."

When I get an idea in my mind, how do I know if it’s from God? How do I know it’s not my own desire or even a lie from Satan? The answer is clear in 1 John 4:1 – I must test it to find out.

This week I want to share with you the seven biblical ways to test an impression and find out whether it is from God or not. These seven tests form a filter and you need to make sure that the idea you are testing passes all seven of them. When it does, you can have absolute confidence that the idea is from God.

The first test is to ask the question, “Does it agree with the Bible?”

God will never contradict his written word. Luke 21:33 says, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away” (NIV). God’s truth is consistent. He is not going to tell you one thing in the Bible and then tell you something different in an impression.

And as Proverbs 12:19 says, “Truth stands the test of time.” How does this apply as a filter? For example, the Bible tells us to pay our taxes when it says “give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s” (Matthew 22:21 NIV). So if you feel God telling you not to pay your taxes this year, that thought isn’t from God. It would be a contradiction of his Word.

There are also many verses in Proverbs that say God will bless your business if you have integrity and if you are honest and fair in all your business dealings. So if you get an idea that you could make more money and increase your profits by being dishonest, that idea is not from God.

The vast majority of God’s will for your life is in God’s Word. So if anyone ever comes up to you and says you need the Bible plus another book to find truth, they are wrong. Galatians 1:8 says, “Even if an angel comes from heaven and preaches any other message, let him be forever cursed” (NLT).

That may sound harsh, but God’s truth does not change. If you want to know God’s voice, the only book you need to read is the Bible. You need to memorize it, study it, and meditate on it.

When you know God’s Word you will not be fooled by lies. But you will always get into trouble when you doubt the Bible.

***

“In your lives you must think and act like Christ Jesus.” Philippians 2:5 (NCV)

God’s number one purpose in your life is to make you like Jesus. He is the standard for your life in how you think, act, feel and speak. That’s why the second test to determining whether an impression is from God or not is to ask this question: “Does it make me more like Christ?”

God is never going to tell you something in your mind that would cause you to do something that’s un-Christlike. If it is not like Jesus, believe me, you didn’t get the idea from God.

What is Jesus like? James 3:14-17 gives us some specifics that are a good measure for testing an idea: “If you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition … such ‘wisdom’ is of the devil. The wisdom that comes from God is pure, peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy, impartial and sincere” (NIV).

First of all, this passage tells us two things God’s wisdom is not. It will not be motivated by bitter envy or selfish ambition.

These verses instead give seven things to test if an idea that comes into your mind is from God:

  • Is it pure? If any thought is impure, God didn’t give it to you.
  • Is it peace-loving? If the idea is from God, it will promote harmony and reconciliation, not conflict.
  • Is it considerate? Any idea that would hurt or harm someone, even though it may benefit you, is not from God because he cares about the effect it might have on others.
  • Is it submissive? If you get an idea from God, you must be open to having it tested by other people, asking them what they think about it. If you are hesitant and don’t feel like letting other people test the idea, then it didn’t come from God because it isn’t leading you to submit to others’ feedback.
  • Is it full of mercy? An impression from God will make you more gracious and forgiving. It won’t make you judgmental or critical.
  • Is it impartial and sincere? When you get an idea that’s from God, you don’t use it to manipulate people to get your own way.

Any idea that encourages these seven qualities in your life is an idea that will make you more like Christ.

Looking for Clean Safe Power

Chuck MisslerBy Dr. Chuck Missler
Koinonia House

Clean, safe nuclear power seems a bit uncertain these days, with nuclear reactors exploding in Japan while the world watches in tense anticipation. A third explosion rocked the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear plant early Tuesday, spewing radiation into the air. Prime Minister Naoto Kan warned people within 12 miles of the plant to evacuate and those within 19 miles to stay indoors. As fuel prices rise at the pumps, and the anniversary of the Gulf oil spill looms next month, a desire for safer ways of producing energy tops many people's minds.

In 1986, the Chernobyl nuclear disaster blew a plume of radiation across Europe. Interestingly, Chernobyl means "wormwood" in Russian, (cf. Rev 8:11). There are fears that something similar might happen in eastern Asia, but the damage caused by the Japanese reactors won't likely duplicate the Chernobyl disaster. The Japanese reactors are housed in a protective container to deter radiation leakage. However, workers are struggling to keep the fuel rods at the Dai-ichi plant covered with water, and it appears the fuel rods are melting.

The current nuclear danger in Japan has certainly bolstered the position of those who fight against using nuclear power. The construction of Taiwan's No. 4 nuclear power plant is under attack by environmentalists and the nation's main opposition party due to safety concerns. East Asia is earthquake territory, and while the recent Japanese quake was one of the largest in recorded history, it will not be the last.

Professor Shih Hsin-min, of National Taiwan University's Department of Chemical Engineering, called for Taiwan to upgrade its nuclear plants' ability to withstand earthquakes. The Green Party spokesman Pan Han-sheng, on the other hand, just wants construction on Taiwan's fourth nuclear plant to stop altogether, declaring that Taiwan would "meet its doom" if it faced a nuclear accident like the one Japan is dealing with right now.

Use of nuclear power has not caused its share of problems. A stuck valve resulted in the partial core meltdown of Unit 2 at Three Mile Island near Harrisburg, PA in 1979. Up to 481 P Bq (13 million curies) of radioactive gases were released. Yet, the majority of the world's 442 nuclear reactors operate without making much noise at all. Of the world's nations, the United States produces the most nuclear power with its 104 reactors, accounting for about 19% of its energy consumption. France uses its 58 reactors to produce 80% of the energy it needs. Nuclear power is pretty darn safe, considering that the majority of Japan's 54 reactors are doing okay, despite the country's having just suffered a 9.0 magnitude earthquake.

The problem, of course, is that while nuclear power plants operate just peachy most of the time, thousands or even millions of people can be harmed when there is an "issue".

The quest for better means of energy production continues. The cost of installing a photovoltaic system has been cut in half since 2000, and the solar energy market has grown to $71.2 billion in 2010 from $2.5 billion a decade ago. As one drives across America, whether through Washington State or Texas, it is common to see dozens or hundreds of huge windmills jutting across the horizon. According to the LA Times, the wind industry is growing in sweeping leaps, from $4.5 billion in 2000 to $60.5 billion last year. Not everybody likes the windmills; they are despised as eyesores or accused of killing birds and bats, but they continue to sprout up like giant dandelions across the country. Clean energy is big business these days, with nearly one-fourth of all venture capital going into clean-technology ventures. That's a big change from 2000, when just 1% of venture capitalists dared to jump onto the "clean" wagon.

Then there's Scott Brusaw of northern Idaho, who is still working to develop his "solar roads" idea. Brusaw wants to replace the thousands of miles of blacktop roads in the United States with heavy duty roads made of solar panels. The idea is a great one, if it can work. The electricity generated by the roads would not only take care of all of America's energy needs, but would make the possibility of electric cars far more feasible since recharge stations could be set up anywhere along the roads. The roads could generate enough heat to melt heavy snow, eliminating the winter wear and tear on cars, drivers, and roads. Telephone and electric lines could be laid under the roads, eliminating the need for wires strung up on poles. Brusaw is filled with ideas.

The reality of solar roads is still a long way off, but Brusaw's got hope. In the fall of 2009, the US government gave him $100,000 to build solar panels for test driving. The government has just invited Brusaw to apply for a $750,000 contract in funding so that he can build and test a real solar parking lot.

Necessity is the mother of invention, and we need to find new and improved ways to produce energy. As we work to find an escape route from our dependence on foreign oil and look for alternatives that can keep us running smoothly, the Scott Brusaws of the world might just be our best bet.

Grace in the Morning

"Come up in the morning . . . and present thyself unto me in the top of the mount" (Exod. 34:2).

The morning is the time fixed for my meeting the Lord. The very word morning is as a cluster of rich grapes. Let us crush them, and drink the sacred wine. In the morning! Then God means me to be at my best in strength and hope. I have not to climb in my weakness. In the night I have buried yesterday's fatigue, and in the morning take a new lease of energy. Blessed is the day whose morning is sanctified! Successful is the day whose first victory was won in prayer! Holy is the day whose dawn finds thee on the top of the mount!

My Father, I am coming. Nothing on the mean plain shall keep me away from the holy heights. At Thy bidding I come, so Thou wilt meet me. Morning on the mount! It will make me strong and glad all the rest of the day so well begun.
--Joseph Parker.

Still, still with Thee, when purple morning breaketh,
When the bird waketh, and the shadows flee;
Fairer than morning, lovelier than daylight,
Dawns the sweet consciousness, I am with Thee.
Alone with Thee, amid the mystic shadows,
The solemn hush of nature newly born;
Alone with Thee in breathless adoration,
In the calm dew and freshness of the morn.

As in the dawning o'er the waveless ocean,
The image of the morning-star doth rest,
So in this stillness, Thou beholdest only
Thine image in the waters of my breast.
When sinks the soul, subdued by toil, to slumber,
Its closing eyes look up to Thee in prayer;
Sweet the repose, beneath Thy wings o'er shadowing,
But sweeter still to wake and find Thee there.
--Harriet Beecher Stowe

***

My mother's habit was every day, immediately after breakfast, to withdraw for an hour to her own room, and to spend that hour in reading the Bible, in meditation and prayer. From that hour, as from a pure fountain, she drew the strength and sweetness which enabled her to fulfill all her duties, and to remain unruffled by the worries and pettinesses which are so often the trial of narrow neighborhoods. As I think of her life, and all it had to bear, I see the absolute triumph of Christian grace in the lovely ideal of a Christian lady. I never saw her temper disturbed; I never heard her speak one word of anger, of calumny, or of idle gossip; I never observed in her any sign of a single sentiment unbecoming to a soul which had drunk of the river of the water of life, and which had fed upon manna in the barren wilderness.
--Farrar

Give God the blossom of the day. Do not put Him off with faded leaves.

As an writer and publisher I take serious the overwhelming flood of propaganda we have to filter thru everyday from those we agree with and those we don't.

Both choosing techniques of fallacies and deceptive practices that are just plain morally and ethically wrong. It feeds the flesh and the ego and as such is horrible for the eventual effect it has on the soul and the mind of any Christian and every Human Being.

I can only try to give you a variety of somewhat screened news that should not be considered as fact, ever. It is always to be treated a "perspective" of what the person saw or heard or is reporting according to the "information" they have at the time; WHICH IS ALWAYS INCOMPLETE.

In News, you only get a "part" of the full picture which takes time; research; and thoughtful presentation. I choose these carefully and I pray you read cautiously, it is only part of the "full story."

Young Leaders of Egypt's Revolt Snub Clinton in Cairo
A coalition of six youth groups that emerged from Egypt’s revolution last month has refused to meet with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who arrived in Cairo earlier today, in protest of the United States’ strong support for former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak who was ousted by the uprising. “There was an invitation for members of the coalition to meet Secretary of State Hillary Clinton but based on her negative position from the beginning of the revolution and the position of the US administration in the Middle East, we reject this invitation,” the January 25 Revolution Youth Coalition said in a statement posted on its Facebook page.

Surgeon General: Buying Iodide a "Precaution"
The fear that a nuclear cloud could float from the shores of Japan to the shores of California has some people making a run on iodine tablets. God Help Me: "The Reason" by Michael James Stone

GOD HELP ME

The Reason

God help me is my vent. It is where I blow off steam. It is the place and means I choose to stomp my feet, scream and shout about stick my thumb in mouth over and toss

sackcloth and ashes in and over the things of God and the world and its' ways; sometimes people too.

Every Man of God wants to do this; from the Pastor to the Preacher, from the zealot to the saint; but in reality for me; God Help Me is an expectation stated for God and His

people to intervene in some way, because some how, God brought it to me that day, and there was NO WAY for me to do anything about it.

THAT is always my only vent I really have. God you do it because I cannot so in those days and means I cry out:

God help Me.

As do you,

as do we all.

That is the reason for this Feature

It might be daily,

but

God help me.

Who knows?

God Help Me: "It's snowing in Japan" by Michael James Stone

GOD HELP ME

It's snowing in Japan

I don't want to get into a techincal debate, a confrontational relationship, or even a question of accuracy, theology, diplomacy or hermaneutically sound homiletic. I could, I don't want to. God help me but I want to talk about God. My God, my view, my way.

Today it is snowing in Japan. For me and my God, in my heart, in my thoughts and in my mind, snow is a "type" or sign of grace. That might only be FOR me and I frankly don't care what it is for anyone else, TO ME it also a sign of answered prayer.

Yesterday, it seemed, the people of God had slept, IN MY MINDS EYES, while others were suffering and while some opportunist took umberance and audacity to call it a Judgment of God againt a Nation; I took exception to every person and do to this day that in MY Faith it was not God who was judging a nation, but using a opportunit; to examine the heart of a people before he returns and some literally have to run for thier lives; away from a livng God.

So I Cried out God Help me, and to date, I saw the Love of God and the Mercy of a Great King exercise his people to respond in kind with compassion and prayer for the people of Japan and the Nation as a whole. I thank every rememeberance of that selfless act; over the "wise men and women" who took misfortune as a chance to importunity share a "word from God."

Here is my reply;

Today it is Snowing in Japan.

Why is this a good thing?

Besides for me a symbol of grace; even in a Crisis as the tsunami and earthquake is, coolant for a reactor isn't met by snow and cold temps; but it doesn't hurt now does it?

Particulation cast into a cloud bank of falling snow while it may affect "food chain" and ground etc, it does circumvent massive distributive qualities of radiation particles. Funny we "use water" also to "wash down" cotamination. Odd how Dripping water in mine cave ins, snow and ice in lack of drinking water places often are used in desperation when No Water is seen. There can be many reason to see the bad in why snow is falling..., and of course many will tell you that.

Not me.

For me, Oh YEAH,

God help me;

but I will rejoice in the God of My Salvation who has not only heard my cry,

but the prayers of His people

and answered today

according to His Will and His Way.

It's Snowing in Japan

and I am grinning from ear to ear.

-Michael James Stone-

My Prayer: Explanation

My Prayer

My Prayer is a daily feature on the Devotions Network
As strange as this sounds; it is really not written for anyone else but Me and My God.
As much as God speaks to me in words He conspires in my heart to share;
He has determined that some may benefit some small amount from the words I say;
In Prayer.
If it causes you to Pray as you do,
I am glad.
But is it not my intention to edit or present some work for evaluation;
but simply as I said, a daily conversation;
between me and my God.
