The plan for the church was that we would serve one another and love one another~David McGee

John 21:17-19

17 He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?"

Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, "Do you love Me?" And he said to Him, "Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You." Jesus said to him, "Feed My sheep.

18 Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish."

19 This He spoke, signifying by what death he would glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, "Follow Me."

Life Lesson

We are all called into ministry.

There is an accepted concept in the church today that is unscriptural and even anti-biblical in its understanding and application.

We have somehow come to believe that only a select few in the church are called to serve.

This was never the intention of Jesus.

The plan for the church was that we would serve one another and love one another through acts of ministry. Someone saying "I am not called to ministry" is almost like saying "I am not called to love others."

We have been told to love one another as well as serve one another. We have been saved to be transformed or changed. Transformed to serve. The callings may be different for each and every person, but the calling itself is there for all of us to hear. To he who has ears to hear, let him hear. And respond.

Dear Jesus,
Thank you for coming into my life. I now give my life to you. If you can use my life to encourage one person, serve one person, or to see one person brought to you, please use my life. There is no greater joy than to give our lives away in ministry. You not only told us that, but you showed us that. Lord, help me to look for ways to give my life away. Until the whole world hears, in Jesus' name Amen.

Living to tell what He died to say,
