"Thou Shalt not Kill"

(Chp 6:8)

"Come."

Tom was back to the present again.

Glazed in his perspective, his gaze showed Tom was still transitioning from memory to reality. Crossing back from where he had been. At least in thought, and for Tom, experience.

In the here and now, Rose held all of the most pure intents and feelings.

She had triggered the recumbent memories Tom had suppressed.  She was the one who he had felt was inside him looking at what Tom alone felt was his. Those things too personal for Tom to admit. Too real for Tom to deny. A part of Him he kept to himself, for himself.

He had no idea they were his own personal cancer.

Rose Knew.

She had flooded through Tom as though the entire Universe stood still and waited…..,

As though the Universe had witnessed with Tom’s recollections, all that had occurred from Toms viewpoint.

Now Tom stood in resistance to Rose.

He would not step forward, he dare not.

The strong west wind rolled in like thunder.

No one had felt the wind blow hard but this felt…personal.

Caleb and Tom heard what words were said. How could they not as it seemed to emanate from the ground, the air and their very cells. Burning in intensity its magnificence was as inspiring as its sheer holiness.

Nothing contrary could exist in its presence.

Nothing that contradicted the words would survive.

They said,

"Thou shalt not kill."

Booming in the thunder a second time all heard the voice.

It was everywhere inside and out. It was in every fiber of all beings.

It was Heard.

It was Felt.

It was Known.

It was God.

It was like the judgments the old timers had gone through in the Tribulation/Holocaust.

The angels flying through the air at times declaring the messages God had declared to them. Back then everyone had heard. Back then everyone knew what was being said. Everyone knew that an imminent judgment would occur, they were being warned.

And yet, even in the midst of already occurring judgments it still did not change many minds.

Not Back Then.

In those days the inevitably of the words precluded any action. It was declaration of intent. Portent and content was coming. It was stated so. Back then in the Judgments facts stated with consequential reality occurring.

God said it. It happened.

As laws of physics demanded action and reaction. Action had already previously occurred and incurred a reaction, 6000 years later the reaction came.,

It was not late, nor ever forgotten.

This voice, this word, this was obvious that an imminent judgment was occurring now.

No hesitation was implied. None inflected. Some action needed to be done to stave off the resulting verdict.

"No..,"

Tom with a still formed "no" pursed on his lips almost mindlessly stepped forward.

He reached The Rose outstretched limb. The withered limb, torn branch. The place that Tom had disgraced the offering of a life so freely existing to give.

Tom was joined to the outstretched arms of one of God’s Creation in the Millenium.

With thunder still echoing Caleb stood up and watched as Tom was gathered closer. Gathered in and enveloped.  Rose with all her "arms" embraced Tom. Wrapped him gently in her hold.

She whispered oh so gently,

"I forgive you."

The heavens felt as though they dissipated instantly.

All the building energy of the moment seemed to deflate. Everyone exhaled as if on cue. It was as if everyone had one breath and had been holding it. Now they could breathe again.

The tension was gone.

The judgment released.

The moment passed.

Rose died with Tom in her arms.

It was shocking. No one expected that feeling to hit each and every one of them, but it did.

A ribbon of life taunt and tense, each person had been held in the gaze of rose. Each had given and received from her “life” and the “love” now was instantly snapped.

The repercussions felt like a rubber band giving way and snapping.

At that moment a great emptiness was suddenly experienced that none had ever felt before but all knew. All felt it.

There was an instant when you almost felt alive in warmth and inner glow then suddenly a complete and utter vacancy inside. An absence of emotion. A bankruptcy of feeling.

Devoid of the emanations that had been Rose, gravity felt as though it had increased a hundred fold.

Wariness of soul prevailed and all felt loss. Sorrow wanted to howl with no place to give it’s voice in a place and time that had not known sin.

Rose was gone.
