Then He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, "Simon, are you sleeping? Could you not watch one hour? Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation.
The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."
Again He went away and prayed, and spoke the same words. And when He returned, He found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy; and they did not know what to answer Him. Then He came the third time and said to them, "Are you still sleeping and resting? It is enough!"

During this holiday season, don't let temptation overtake you, over-charging your credit cards and then paying dearly in January or February when the bills come due. This just creates stress and anxiety as you start your new year. Maybe this Christmas season you are depressed or bitter about things.
Don't fall into the temptation of losing your cool; don't turn to alcohol when you feel the pressure.
In other words, during the rest of December, don't allow the holidays to control your life--let Jesus control your life, and use your life to pour His love out to others.
Jesus asks one simple thing of the disciples:
"Watch and pray."
And yet, they fell asleep. Jesus responds to them saying, "Could you not even watch for one hour?" Just one hour--that's all He's asking.
During this very busy and hectic season, please take time for the Lord.
After all, it is Christmas, right? This is the time to remember and celebrate the birth of our Lord. Watch and pray; focus on Him this Christmas. Don't worry about the gifts (or lack thereof). Don't worry about how the house looks and if it's good enough for the relatives.
Let your heart do the ministry, not your possessions.
Let Jesus Christ rule in your heart this Christmas, not the gifts.
