Romans 9:6-7

"But it is not that the word of God has taken no effect. For they are not all Israel who are of Israel, nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, "In Isaac your seed shall be called."
NKJV

Life Lesson

The gospel is not a treasure to be stored but a gift to be shared.

Never before has Christianity been so accessible within the United States. Just walk a few blocks down any city street and you will pass a church. Take a drive down any country lane and you will find chapels and churches satisfying the scenery. Christian radio and television are making waves while religious readers have easy access to the latest best-seller.

So why are so many starving for Jesus? Well friend, the mantra of the modern Church has become self-improvement, self-empowerment and self reliance. In effect, this leaves multitudes drowning in a sea of self-centeredness.

2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 "in flaming fire, bringing judgment on those who don't know God and on those who refuse to obey the Good News of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction, forever separated from the Lord and from his glorious power" NLT

This situation is serious. Many Christians have become so self-centered that they think about no one else. They do not comprehend the consequences of hoarding the Good News. The light we have received is desperately needed by others, yet so many "saved" will never know the joy of sharing it. If we really believe what we lay claim to, how can we be OK with letting someone perish? It goes beyond indifference or fear of rejection; it is either unbelief or hatred. How much do you have to hate someone to let them go to hell? I'm not OK with it and never will be. Won't you join with me in living to tell what Jesus died to say?

Dear Father:
Thank you for the Good News of Jesus Christ. Thank you for the freedoms of owning a Bible and being a part of a church home. Lord, forgive me for the times I have been self-centered and thought only of my own salvation. Please show me the opportunities to tell someone about You. I want to join in the joy of reaching others with the gospel of Jesus Christ. In Jesus' name, Amen.
